In the Marais in Paris there is a fabulous shop called Gavilane with self-described , "Collections d' Exception"! And this necklace is typical...if one could use that word...of the store...

Yes, that is how he really dresses, and being terminally chic, he can get away with it!

Now put aside your pirate fantasy just for the moment and take another look at that necklace. It's a big mish-mash of things that work well together! He also has a thing for corsetry, frilly, feminine skirts and nautical-bordering-on-Goth motifs. When I spoke with him (in French, thank you very much) he really stressed the need to mix it up. It's paramount that the clothes fit the wearer and equally important to cultivate a sense of fearlessness. Jean Phillipe loves to juxtapose things...a rhinesone encrusted tee bearing a Tibetan blessing with a frilly tulle skirt really works in his book.
